During our stay, we found ourselves watching the sunrise every morning. Watching the sunrise over the mountaintops behind the iconic neo-gothic church was a memory that we will always cherish.

At night, relaxing on the rooftop while watching the fireworks show that San Miguel de Allende puts on regularly was nothing short of magical.

The views of the fireworks at night over La Parroquia from the private rooftop terrace reminded us of the scene that you see at the beginning of every Disney movie with the fireworks over the castle.

We felt as though we were in a world full of special offerings. It’s no surprise that San Miguel de Allende is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

We got to experience the best of all San Miguel de Allende has to offer thanks to being located in the absolute perfect location staying at Elegant Casa San Rafael, a short 20-minute entertaining walk to Jardin Allende, the main square of the city.

Among our favorite restaurants in San Miguel de Allende were:

• Bennu for their wood-fired sourdough pizza.

• Spice Market for the best chicken pad Thai we have had anywhere in the world (seriously, you have to try it!)

• Luna Tapas Bar for the most refreshing margaritas and delicious guacamole.

• Barrica De Fuego (reservation required) for the most mouth-watering ribeye steak while sitting close to a bonfire while listening to live music and looking out over the wine vineyard.

Upon completing the booking at Elegant Casa San Rafael, we received an email from the host introducing us to the house manager to coordinate someone from their team to meet us at the house upon our arrival to let us in, provide us with the important house information, give us a tour, and answer any questions we had.

The host also let us know that if we’d like to have food or drinks waiting at the house for us upon our arrival that we could let the house manager know. She would go to the grocery store for us to do our shopping and all we had to do was pay upon our arrival for the groceries and service. We found this to be such a nice touch that we appreciate and will remember the next time we book our stay at Elegant Casa San Rafael.
